Construction Services
Connecting “workforce to reflect the diversity of the communities in which we live and work” is what we do best! (NCUS) creates partnerships with construction companies to design customized plans to support your workforce diversity core values to meet workforce and MBE/EDGE objectives on construction projects requiring mandated participation goals.
NCUS provides the following service deliverables to ensure mandated goals are obtained for projects:
Provide recruiting services to identify candidates for employment opportunities
Conduct workforce training workshops to prepare individuals for construction employment opportunities on the project (interviewing; resume; soft skills, etc.)
Provide monthly reporting publications highlighting project outcomes
Provide “How to Do Business ” workshops with small contractors
Market project information to MBE/EDGE contractors to provide proactive project notification
Host project mixers for awarded contracts to connect Prime contractors to MBE/EDGE contractors
Recruit and refer MBE/ EDGE companies to awarded project
Provide one-on-one assistance to small contractors with Messer’s registration process
Design capacity building programs for small contractors to identify areas of needed improvement to prepare for sub-contract opportunities with Primes
Conduct Prime contractor information meetings to increase contract compliance for MBE/EDGE and workforce goals

NCUS provides certified professional development training for teachers, social workers, health care and other human service professionals working in urban communities. Our classes, workshops and training resources are based on culturally informed training pedagogy and emphasize an asset orientation of these communities and the people living in them.
