NCUS Economic Development Division develops programs in urban communities to enhance those seeking to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for a community by creating and/or retaining jobs and supporting or growing incomes.
We provide economic partnerships for consultation in the following:
Capacity building: We engage communities by organizing block watches, focus groups, town meetings, community patrols, and faith based non-profit groups to reduce crime in communities.
Organizational Design: We provide organization design consulting to emerging or evolving economic development organizations. We can facilitate leadership alignment and make recommendations for both short-term and long-term organization change.
Housing Developments: We have a certified tax credits staff working with developers to enhance housing projects.
Employment: We organize employment projects in the empowerment zone and work with local workforce offices to create workforce systems.
Entrepreneurship: We have created and developed over 75 small business totaling $20 million.
