AMP Success Coach

Purpose:  

The Success Coach collaborates with the Program Manager to implement the school’s academic and behavioral programs, addressing the challenges posed by today’s diverse student population. The Engagement Supervisor actively cooperates with the school leader, academic counselor, staff, students, and parents to foster a positive school climate. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assists Academic Affairs in guidance and counseling sessions (reviewing grades, transcripts, graduation planners, current course progress, etc.). 

  • Receives referrals and engages with students, parents, and teachers to meet the needs of struggling students. 

  • Regularly meets with the Title 1 team to ensure academic progress and plans for struggling students. 

  • Confers with students regarding academic growth and progress. 

  • Acts as a liaison to extracurricular activities, programs, and events. 

  • Prepares letters, calls parents, and attends meetings as needed for struggling students. 

  • Receives behavior referrals. 

  • Develops recruitment plans to assist in meeting enrollment requirements. 

  • Manages fellow engagement coaches to ensure students are actively engaged. 

  • Collaborates with the program manager to monitor student behavior and behavior plans. 

  • Works with teachers and staff to promote positive behavior intervention support. 

  • Manages and monitors the county database. 

Employment Requirements:  

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; background in pupil services or counseling preferred; teaching experience preferred; training or experience in working with students in urban/poverty settings; excellent communication skills; ability to intervene with unruly or disruptive students as part of the school crisis team; ability to organize and utilize data gathered from testing, surveys, progress tracking, and other sources; demonstrated skill in using technology tools (Word, Excel, Access, etc.); effective educational leadership; accessibility by phone after traditional work hours as necessary; ability to supervise up to four people locally and long distance.
